Fluorescence is something that occurs naturally in a diamond. There are several different levels of fluorescence: None, Faint, Medium, Medium Blue, Strong, Strong Blue and Intense Blue.
Fluorescence can affect stones differently; sometimes it can enhance the color of lower color diamonds such as J to M color. On the other hand, fluorescence can cause the stone to look milky or hazy on diamonds D-I. Fluorescence does not affect the overall strength or any characteristics of the diamonds so it’s not hazardous to the stone.
We do recommend when buying a diamond that has fluorescence to see the stone before purchasing.
